Isotretinoin (Accutane®) and Breastfeeding

   Secretion into milk is unknown, but is likely as with other retinoids.  It is assumed concentrations in milk may be significant, however, at this time, there are no well-controlled studies reporting such findings.  The manufacturer strongly recommends against using isotretinoin in a breastfeeding mother.
